Real Madrid dominated the European Champions Cup (as was) winning
it from its birth in 1956, to 1957, 1958
and 1959. In 1960, they introduced the phenomenal Ferenc Puskas.
He and Di Stefano ran away with the game, sharing 7 goals. The
Eintracht Frankfurt side was a strong one, playing creative and
intelligent football, but against the 'masters' no team could
compete. Hailed as 'the greatest game ever' by scores of managers
and players, it was played out in front of a world record 135,000
spectators.
