THE WORLD CUP FINALS 1962

Ukelele Man

Chile proudly hosted the 1962 World Cup Finals, expecting to do well against holders Brazil and a strongly-favoured West Germany side.

Their success in getting into last 4 was celebrated as if they had won the trophy outright! However, high prices kept many home supporters outside the grounds, watching the matches on specially-sited TVs.  Puskas made his World Cup farewell for Spain and an injury to Pele did not affect Brazil's outstanding tournament performances.
